The project “Expansion, reconstruction of the pavilion No. 10 ZOL for the elderly and chronically ill patients in Górno along with its infrastructure” is implemented under the Operational Programme PL07 “Improvement and better health adaptation to demographic and epidemiological trends”, financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009- 2014 and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The implementation of the project entitled “Expansion, reconstruction of the pavilion No. 10 ZOL for the elderly and chronically ill patients in Górno along with its infrastructure” is an outreach to the problems of the elderly, patients with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, but also their carers, including through educational activities in the field of recognition of dementia syndromes, care and rehabilitation of sick and elderly.

The project involves, under the investment activities, separation of 70 places for people with dementia syndromes within the existing Caring-Healing Centre (ZOL) in Górno (currently residing in several buildings) and, for this purpose,  preparation of adequate infrastructure that provides the most favourable conditions for the care and treatment of the elderly and dependent.

Next, a number of non-investment activities are aimed, inter alia, at conducting education on the care of people with dementia syndromes, awareness campaign among the youth and students about the problems of old age, increasing the qualifications of SP ZZOZ “Sanatorium” in Górno to the care and treatment of such people in order to meet the needs of a rapidly growing population of chronically ill, the dependent and elderly.

The project will help to create a place where the elderly with dementia syndrome, including Alzheimer’s disease, will be provided with care and treatment. SP ZZOZ “Sanatorium” in Górno is a unit, which since 2001 has specialised in both the treatment and the care of dementia patients.
